Traumatic breakups make me question whether friends are even worth having if I lose my trust for them in the future

trust is why friendships work. Without trust, people would avoid social connection. In contrast, having trust enables freedom to express and share yourself with someone else. But building trust is tough because there are many more reasons not to trust someone than there are to trust them.

I have been blessed with an unprecedented opportunity to connect more deeply with my daughter

I had planned to spend our eight weeks abroad entirely outside, immersed in nature, and (thanks partly to the unseasonably good weather) we have managed to do this. I haven’t had such a good tan in years!
